About Giving Nation

Giving Nation is a national initiative which supports young people to give. Whether it is your time, energy or voice, we believe every young person can play a part in challenging the issues that face others in the UK and overseas.

We challenge you to turn your generosity into action by selecting the issue that matters most to your class/group, before then taking action as social entrepreneurs, fundraisers, campaigners or volunteers.

Use your skills, varied talents, imagination and networks to shine a light on your issue!

Over the last four years 163,000 young people in over 3,700 classes have directly run Giving Nation projects. Their actions have had the following impact:

  • Over 650,000 young people have been made aware of projects within their settings.

  • £780,000 has been raised for good causes.

  • 1,760 charities and other organisations have benefited.

  • 940,000 volunteer hours have been completed with the average student donating 5.8 hours of time on their projects.

  • 20% of schools say that other social action projects have been initiated after running our programmes.
